Off Road Quad Bikes

Off road quad bikes give you the freedom and ability to go where there are no roads. They have been specifically designed for rough terrain, but care should still be taken when riding off road. Off road quads should be equipped with a number of options to make your off-roading adventure a safe and enjoyable one.

1. 4-Wheel Drive - While many off-road quad bikes are available in 2-wheel drive, a serious off road rider knows the value of four wheel drive. You may encounter mud or water and find that you have no other choice but to cross it. 4-wheel drive comes in handy in these situations.

2. Winch - This is again a helpful item to have attached to the front of your off road quad bike for those instances where you are stuck. You can easily attach the line to a tree or other object and allow the winch to pull the quad bike out of the mud.

3. Tyres - Now that it is possible to buy road legal quads or adapt an off road ATV so that it complies with the relevant legislation for use on the roads, many have opted to put road legal tyres on their bikes. While these are great for riding around on the tarmac, they will not provide enough traction for true off-road driving. Make sure you have appropriate off-road tyres on your off road ATV quad before heading out.

Off road quad bikes are great fun for weekends or for those that live in more remote settings. They allow you to go where cars and other vehicles simply cannot go and allow you to see parts of the countryside that you may not otherwise have been able to experience.
