All Terrain Utility Vehicle

Not so long ago, all terrain utility vehicles were made by a few manufacturers and were quite expensive. In recent years, many manufacturers of both quad bikes and lawn equipment have begun to build utility quads. These vehicles often resemble a rugged looking golf cart. They usually come with seating for 2 or 4 people, seated 2 by 2 or just 2 people in the front. They also come with a dump on the back used to haul a variety of things, or even for light towing.

Cub Cadet makes a diesel powered utility quad bike called the Cub Cadet UTV, while Polaris build the Ranger. The Polaris Ranger, which includes an 800cc engine can travel at up to 55mph or for maximum capacity, the Polaris Ranger Crew can hold up to 6 people. In the cargo area behind the seats, the Ranger can carry up to 454kg and is able to tow just less than one tonne.

Yamaha has also entered the utility quad market with the Yamaha Rhino, which is full of features and looks like a cross between a pickup truck and an ATV. At 686cc and coupled with an automatic transmission, the Rhino is ready to work. Switching between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive is done easily and the four wheel independent suspension provides maximum comfort and stability.

When in need of a little more utility and power, as well as the ability to carry passengers in comfort and safety, an all terrain utility vehicle is the obvious choice.
